Common questions

How do I change the controls or sound?

Open Settings during play to adjust music and sound effects, turn on-screen controls on or off, or choose the joystick or arrow pad. If movement seems stuck, release the control and try again.

How do we play co-op?

Tiny Outpost supports two to four engineers in a private session. One player hosts and stays connected throughout the run.

  1. Use the same game version on every device and connect to the same local network.
  2. The host opens Play Co-op, unlocks hosting if needed, and selects Host Game.
  3. Other players enter the host's local address and matching port, then select Join Game. The default port is 24570.
  4. Everyone selects Ready. The host starts the sector.

For remote play, a configured private network such as Tailscale must let the devices reach each other. Tiny Outpost does not set up that network for you.

I cannot find or join the host.

Check the host address, port, and game version. On iPhone or iPad, allow Tiny Outpost's Local Network access in device Settings. If discovery does not find a session, join by entering the host address directly.

Guest Wi-Fi or router settings may prevent devices from communicating. Try a shared local network that allows device-to-device connections. Join while the host is still in the lobby; a fifth player or a player joining after the run starts cannot enter that session.

How does Hosting Unlock work?

Only the host needs the one-time Hosting Unlock purchase on iOS or Android. Up to three guests can join for free, and single-player does not require this purchase. There is no subscription.

If you already purchased it, use Restore Purchases while signed into the same App Store or Google Play account. Purchases are separate between the two stores. If access is still missing, email support with the platform and purchase date. Do not send full payment details.

What happens if I disconnect or my engineer is defeated?

A defeated engineer watches a surviving teammate and returns at the next sector. The run ends if every engineer is defeated or the command hub is destroyed.

If a connection is lost, start or join a new lobby. Rejoining a run already in progress and transferring the host role are not supported.

Where is my progress saved?

Solo progression and settings are stored locally on your device. Co-op runs do not add progression to your solo save. Clearing app data or uninstalling may remove local saves. Restoring Hosting Unlock restores the purchase, not a deleted local save.

How do I report a crash, bug, or privacy concern?

Email [email protected]. For bugs, mention whether you were playing solo, hosting, or joining, and describe what happened just before the issue. For privacy or data questions, explain your request and device platform so we can help.
